Get Inspired at an Actual Carnival

Attending an actual carnival is a great way to get inspired before throwing a Circus themed party. Make sure to take pictures! The colorful lighted signs, the giant inflatable prizes, and the abundant walls of furry creatures are all cute ideas you can bring home to DIY. With a little imagination, you can definitely turn these ideas into cool DIY projects and have a fabulous party.

Make a ticket sign with wood, or a left over cabinet door found at a second hand store like Habitat for Humanity ReStore (or your garage!). Use a cutting machine to create a TICKETS sign and glue colorful bulbs around the edges. Popcorn can be purchased at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or even Amazon. Here is an Amazon affiliate link for cotton candy.

Consider making fake jumbo crayons, hammers, and lollipops with cardboard and painting them. You can also find inexpensive inflatable toyson Amazon (affiliate link).

Copy the ideas below by using a pop up tent. A pop up tent is great for outdoor parties. You can have games underneath, or seating with tables.

To complete this idea, hang wire from one end of the pop up tent to the other. Use “S” hooks to attach the inflatables. This way the are easy to take down. Use these to double as decorations and party favors.

You can always use stuffed animals that your kids already have to create this look to add to the decorations.

To complete this look use zip ties to attach stuffed animals around a pop-up tent.
