Hello, I’m Dinah! I’m a work at home mom that loves to craft, decorate, repurpose and create.  I get my inspiration from several people from Martha Stewart, to my 3 year old daughter, and my extremely talented older brother.  I spend hours getting ideas from television shows, swap meets and flea markets, Pinterest, other blogs, thrift stores, and books and magazines.

Deciding to be a stay at home mom was not easy for me because I had spent the last ten years working my butt off and prior to that, I spent several years in college getting degrees and even teaching a little at the state college level.  Working hard was in my blood. Everything changed when my amazing husband and I had a beautiful little girl. Here we are…

Becoming a parent, as many of you can attest, flipped my world upside down, and there was no way I was going to miss the first laugh, the first word, the first step, or any milestone in between.  Staying at home not only meant quality time with my daughter, but also allowed more time to do what I love… get DIY crafty on the cheap.

With the support of my family and friends, I started this blog to simply test and challenge myself to start new projects, share my inspirations, and hopefully inspire a few others along the way. I even started a second site Inheriting Our Planet that focuses on recycled kids crafts and kid’s activities.

Check out some of my achievements since I started blogging.  I’ve been lucky enough to be published in a couple magazines, named one of Mashable’s Moms Full of Inspiring Advice, and partnered with some fabulous brands including Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts, Home Depot and 3M DIY.  Also, if you are interested in advertising, here are my advertising guidelines. Feel free to email me with any questions at dwulf@diyinspired.com.

Here are some of my projects.

Oh! Guess what?? I am also now a part of Martha’s Circle!

    Hi Dinah!
I’m going to be doing some fun DIY tutorials and would love to share them. Hopfully I am posting this to the right area. Not sure what category this should be, maybe you know. Have a great day!

    Hi Dinah;
I’m from Highland Park High School, and I’m designing a website for a green school club, and I would like to ask you for permission if i could use your link of your website on my green school club website if it’s okay. I really like the way you reuse old stuff and make it new. It is very awesome. So if you could give me an answer it would be awesome.
    Thank You
    Sincerely

  • LOVE your site! You’ve done a lot of work in a year- it may take me a while but I’m looking forward to investigating all these posts. I love DIY- especially when it’s well done.

    • Thank you SO much, Sheri! You just made my day :) I just spent some time on your blog and I love your writing style! You crack me up!! Thanks again!

    Hi Dinah,
I love the burlap placemate idea.
I bought a burlap to make the placemate, but the burlap leave a lot of lint. what i do to stop?
    Thanks
    solange

    • Hi Solange!

Thank you! Hopefully you didn’t wash them in the washing machine? When you first cut the place mat out of the burlap, go outside and vigorously shake them to get the excess lint off. You can also use a lint roller (I would do both). To keep them clean, hand wash them only. Do not wash them in the washing machine or they will no longer look like burlap! :) Hope this helps!

  • I am new to Etsy, and I’ve been looking around to find blogs like yours…
I was wondering if you ever feature specific Etsy shops on your blog, or do give-away with Etsy items?

I’m trying to figure out the whole Etsy thing yet!
    Thanks for your time!

    Hello
there is a kitchen and bath idea contest happening every month at LG Hausys HI-MACS and Viatera. This is the first month I believe.
As far as I know there is not much limit on what moms can submit.
I thought it was suitable for your blog.
    Please look into it!
    Happy Friday :)

  • Hi Dinah,

This is an absolutely stunning site. You have, by far, one of the most organized and clutter-less sites. I’m new to the blog atmosphere, but have really enjoyed your projects. I’m a huge DIYfan, and am always looking for fresh ideas for birthday and holiday gifts. I will certainly be coming back often for some original projects!

    Thanks for sharing!

Hi! My name is Katherine and I saw your blog and it made me think of my mom’s website! She repurposes old sheets to make essentially anything, especially these really cute pillow case dresses! We are trying to get a little more attention from people and so we figured aim it at the awesome mothers! We have a facebook page called Ashton-Bailey. And the website is ashton-bailey.com we also have esty. It would mean a lot if you could check it out. I’m not really big on blogs but I really enjoy yours! thank you so much

Hi Dinah, just visiting your site for the first time. I love diy projects and my home i full of them. We live at the beach in De. and have an outdoor shower that we love to use-but it could use some prettyfying! Our condo rules forbid any outside the shower changes, but any ideas on how to fix up the inside-we’ve updated the fixtures-stucco walls and wooden door are the surfaces I have to work with- would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hi Pat! Thank you so much for stopping by! Sometimes organization makes thing prettier. You could add decorative towel holders or vintage wire baskets for toiletries and other accessories. I have also seen plants and ivy inside outdoor showers that gives it a tropical feel (I’m unsure how to grow it in the shower). You could also add a wooden platform (for under your feet) surrounded by large smooth stones on the floor. Does that make sense? I can see it in my head! I hope this helps!

  • Hello there,

I love your site, being a mama of twins it gives me great ideas. I was wondering who the best person to speak with regarding advertising?
