DIY Inspired Kitchen Tour
You may already know that we moved into our new home on December 23rd, two days before Christmas. Luckily, we had family visiting us from the Midwest and they graciously helped us unpack and move into the new house. We only had about three boxes left to unpack in three days! Being the anal retentive person that I am, I just HAD to start decorating right away. I shared my bookcases the other day, and today I just wanted to give a little kitchen tour.
When you come in to the front door and walk through the dining room, this is the view when you first walk into the kitchen. How ‘bout that island?
I spend most of my time in the kitchen, in fact, I’m sitting in these bar stools you see below typing this blog post right now. I love it in here…probably because I’m so close to the food!
To the left is a wet bar. Above it I display some of my favorite things including the start of my mercury glass collection. I like how the silver ties in with the appliances.
There is a small area for the kitchen table where we sit as a family every night for dinner.
The island has a built in range that has an automatic exhaust fan that rises up. So cool!
I filled some apothecary jars with fake fruit to add a little color.
If you look beyond the jars, you will see the kitchen sink where I keep some succulent gardens.
Anchoring the sink are two sets of built in shelves where I display some more mercury glass finds and candle holders.
I love this kitchen! It is fill of space and storage and one of the main reasons we fell in love with this house. Thank you for letting me share it with you. In case you missed it, check out some of my decorating tips for built in shelves.
Love it! So comfy looking too
Thank you!!
How do you like having a corner sink? We’re designing our kitchen remodel right now, and it’s an option for us to consider!
I hadn’t really thought about it until you mentioned it but I love it!
This looks like a great place to cook and entertain!
It is! The island sometimes serves as craft central too. If only I enjoyed cooking… 😉
