DIY Outdoor Mason Jar Chandelier

|

What could better than a DIY project that cost absolutely nothing? My daughter and I walk to the playground all the time and every time she brings home a treasure. This time it was a large stick. It sat in our backyard for a while and the other day when I was cleaning, I picked it up and set it aside on our patio table. I stared at it and immediately thought of making this DIY outdoor Mason jar chandelier. After all, I had all the supplies already. I didn’t buy one thing. Here’s how I made it.

Materials:

The stick Mia brought home. It’s nice and sturdy and thick, and I love the color and shape of it. I would guess it’s about two and a half feet long or so. This project is pretty self-explanatory, so I would like to just share a few tips. Once you figure out where I wanted it, I double up the twine.

I cut three pieces of twine, one to wrap around under the lip and two to double up and tie to the stick.

I filled each jar with pebbles and placed a tea light inside.

I used the ladder to rest the jar lightly on it while I tied it to the stick.

I centered it over my patio dining table.

  5. I love this, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for to hang from my pergola in my small UK garden. I collected holly and twigs from my local woods and decorated indoors for Christmas and was so pleased with the result, am now a little obsessed with twigs and branches…I do love dangly sparkly lights!
