I can’t believe that I will be celebrating my twenty year high school reunion next month.  I went to high school in a very small town on the East Coast.  My graduating class was about 200 people and I was the Student Government President…I know… I’m a Geek now and I was a Geek back then too!  My classmates and I were very close, and after all these years we still are.  Even though I live in California, I still keep in touch with a handful of best friends and I go back to visit often. For our reunion, I volunteered to make these Easy High School Class Reunion Centerpieces.

I SCORED at IKEA the other day.  I walked in thinking I was going a different route for the centerpieces. I originally was going to frame black and white pictures of the school and put fresh flowers on the table, but then I saw a large yellow banner with a $1.99 sale for these lanterns on it. What??? $1.99??? I couldn’t pass it up.  I immediately put 10 lanterns in my big recyclable yellow bag with blue handles.

When I got home I knew exactly what I was going to do.  I measured the glass panels and designed three simple school spirited panels on my computer. I printed them on plain white computer paper and used double sided tape to tape them inside each lantern.

I added a tea light and voila… cute and simple centerpiece! We are having the party at a bar so I think these will be perfect for bar sized tables. I may opt to do more but I think that’s it for now because I have to mail them along with the Dollar store photo booth props and Mod Podge photo props that I made.
