I had the most successful thrift store shopping trip the other day.  I will tell you all about it and share all my thrift store finds next week. Today, I wanted to share with you what I did with two items I found for less than ten dollars total. With a glass storage jar and a cute little quail knock knack I found, I made upcycled a thrift store storage jar into some craft storage.

Materials

I found this large glass cookie jar for $5.99 at the Goodwill with a wooden lid.

I also found this cute little quail bird for $2.99 and couldn’t resist buying it.

I started off by centering the adhesive stencils to spell “Craft Junkie”.

Using a small spouncer brush, I painted on the stencil.

Here’s what it looked like when I was done.

You can peel off the stencil immediately.

Allow it to dry for one hour.

Meanwhile I painted my lid and bird. To easily paint the bird, I put a pencil in the center and placed it in a jar to dry.

Once the paint was dry, I used strong industrial strength glue.

Once the paint is on the jar dries for one hour, place the jar in a cool oven.

Turn the oven to 350 and leave it in there for 30 minutes. If you do not want to place the jar in the oven, you can also allow the paint to cure for about 22 days.
