During my recent visit to the of Villa del Palmar at The Islands of Loreto resort and spa I experienced so many fun excursions including paddle boarding, clam diving, and a Loreto Island Boat Tour. Departing from downtown Loreto on a 20-passenger APEX inflatable boat, the Isla Coronado tour provides amazing snorkeling opportunities along the area’s crystal blue water.

Ten of us toured the quaint downtown area of Loreto. I purchased a few souvenirs for my friends and family back home and we headed on a short walk to the dock.

Here is a photo I took of the shopping area.

This was inside one of the shops where the shop Owner showed us his loom for making rugs.

The boat was much larger than I expected.  Don’t let the term “inflatable” fool you.  There was more than enough room for the ten of us as well as the crew members.  There was plenty of underneath storage in our seats to help protect our belongings and keep them out of the way. This was our view walking along the coast to our boat.

The Danzante Island tour departed from nearby Puerto Escondido, and took us to the region’s most iconic island, which features an amazing array of native plants, coral groups and a wide variety of marine species. Danzante is known as a great place to enjoy diving, hiking or just relaxing in the sun on what’s known as “Honeymoon Beach.”

We stopped a few times to swim, eat lunch, and snorkel, while enjoying the beautiful calm blue waters. We were told that if the tide wasn’t as high, guests normally stop on the beach to have lunch.

The boat dropped us off at the resort beach which was a fantastic convenience and a great opportunity to sip another freshly made cucumber margarita!  It was definitely a trip to remember.
