There always seems to be times when I need a good neighbor, teacher, or coach gift. These Mason Jar Chocolate Chip Cookies make the perfect gift for almost anyone. You can make them for holidays, birthdays, or other special occasions. Here is how you make them in a few simple steps.

Time: 30 Minutes +

Note: This recipe makes 2 dozen cookies.

Materials:

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Text Instructions:

Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Place this mixture as the bottom layer in your quart-sized Mason jar, followed by the brown sugar, sugar, and chocolate chips. Seal the top and add a tag with the baking instructions.

You can print a generic version of the tag here. You can customize the color of the tag background with scrapbook paper to fit your gift giving occasion. If you make your own tag, the instructions should include the following details: combine the ingredients with 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1.5 sticks of butter. Bake at 375°F for 9–11 minutes.

Make these fun Mason jar cookie gifts by layering the dry ingredients from your favorite cookie recipe. On your gift tag, be sure to note which wet ingredients are needed and include the baking instructions. Tie it with a ribbon to fit the occasion. Get creative and put this jar in a gift basket with measuring cups, measuring spoons, and an oven mitt to give to a new neighbor or as a thank you for a special coach.

Note: I made the printable baking instructions generic so that you can use scrapbook paper to change the color and pattern of the tag to match any occasion.

  1. Hi Dinah! Do you mind if I link this post on my blog? I’ve made these before and they are DELICIOUS.

  2. What does the one & one half stick of butter mean? Is it a total of 1 stick? Silly question but a couple people I made them for have asked me.

    Thank You,
