Easy Clearance Sale Makeover: Reversible Halloween and Christmas Porch Sign

The best time to shop for the holidays is after the holiday because everything eventually goes to clearance. I spotted this Halloween post sign but it didn’t fit my budget, so I waited. Apparently, it was too expensive for everyone else’s budget because not one was purchased and all of them ended up in the clearance section. I snatched it up and made this reversible Halloween and Christmas porch sign.

You can watch a quick video Reel on Instagram on how I made over this fun sign here:  Reversible Halloween and Christmas Porch Sign

Here is the sign BEFORE.

Painting the Halloween Sign

This Halloween sign was double sided. First, a sanded it lightly due to some scratches and knicks. Next, I used a paint and primer in one to hand paint inside the existing black border. It was helpful to use the straight edge of a foam brush for the edges and then a bristle brush for the middle. Allow it to dry completely.

Adding a Christmas Design with a Cricut Machine

I found a Happy Holidays design in the Cricut Design Space and then just added the text “from the” and “Wulfs”, our last name. I thought this would look cute on our front porch.

After cutting out both designs, I weeded the vinyl and used transfer paper to place it onto the sign.

Lastly, because I plan on using this outdoors, I sprayed it with clear glaze spray paint.

I love how it turned out! The best part is that I spent less than I would if I made it from scratch and I can use it for both Halloween AND Christmas!
