Easy Easter Egg Decorating Ideas

Plastic Easter eggs are EVERYWHERE during this time of year.  They are probably one of the most inexpensive, if not THE most inexpensive Easter decoration you can purchase at a retail store.  You can buy an entire bag for less than a dollar.  Here are some Easter egg decorating ideas with plastic Easter eggs that you can do in a jiffy just in time for Easter.

Make a plastic Egg Garland

Tips and Instructions

  1. Open a plastic egg and snap them back together around a ribbon (affiliate link) to create your own Easter egg garland in minutes.
  2. Space them close or a few inches apart.
  3. Hang it on a mirror, on your mantel, or use larger ones and drape them on your stair railing.
  4. Use different sizes and colors to match your decor style.

Embellish them with ribbon

Materials:

  • Ribbon
  • Rhinestones
  • Glue
  • Imagination!

Using some glue, ribbon, and rhinestones turn rather drab store bought eggs to fab store bought eggs that you can take out and use again next year. Group them together in a basket for simple table top decor.

Cover them in moss

Make a wreath

Talk about a complete transformation!  All you need is yarn, glue, and a little bit of time. Cover them in yarn and make a yarn Egg Wreath just like this whimsical one from The Sweet Survival.  She used both small and large eggs. Hot glue them onto a wreath form. Change the yarn colors to fit your liking.

Do you have 30 seconds? No DIY necessary for this one. Gather similar color hues and display them in apothecary jars or vases.  Don’t be afraid to mix them up with natural glass fillers to match your décor.

We saved the best for last! If you like to doodle, this one is for you. Alisa Burke, took an ordinary plastic egg and used Sharpies and paint pens to decorate her eggs. Mix the tops and bottoms when your done for a fun look!
