Guest Bathroom Makeover

Modern Gray Guest Bathroom Makeover with Marble Countertop

We have been slowly making over our home. Since the end of last year, we have painted, redone the floors, moldings, casings, some fixtures, and remodeled our stairs. I wanted to share the before and after photos, but it seems like nothing is completely finished. Today, I thought I’d start small with our guest bathroom makeover.

For this makeover we:

  • Painted
  • Replaced the floors and molding
  • Replaced the vanity
  • Upgraded the light fixtures
  • Bought new mirrors and decor

Here is a photo of the bathroom vanity that came with the house when we moved in a few years ago. It’s beautiful, but not our style.

The lack of natural light in there didn’t help the yellow tones in the paint. The vanity seemed way too big and too ornate for our style.

We first started by removing the old one and painting the entire bathroom light gray. It was a small change but a great improvement. Also, we removed the tile floors and replaced it with reengineered waterproof flooring that looks like wood. We also changed the moldings to 6-inch plain white.

Forgive the awkward angle of the pictures. It’s the best I could do for this little space!

Where To Buy

We bought the vanity, faucet, and light fixtures at Lowe’s and both the mirrors at AtHome. Here are the links in case you want to buy them for yourself!

One thing I have to complain about the faucet was that we received a faulty piece (which seemed like a common thing when we called the company to replace it), so it took us several days to complete the vanity due to waiting for the part to arrive in the mail.

The baseboards needed to be trimmed out so that the vanity would be flush against the wall.

I also added smart light bulbs that I can control from my phone. This way, we didn’t have to install a dimmer switch. The smart bulbs I used were C by GE.

I love the marble counter top. It always looks clean and is easy to wipe down. The layout of the drawers are great too. I bought some hand soap and fake succulents at Home Goods as a final touch.

Overall, we are so happy with how it turned out! What do you think?
