Hawaiian Minion Craft Idea

This article, Hawaiian Minion Craft Idea, is sponsored by Bounty. All opinions are 100% my own.

Guess what? My family and I were honored to attend the Despicable Me 3 special screening event! Can you believe it? It was a blast and we all LOVED the movie.

In honor of this, my daughter and I came up with this adorable Hawaiian Minion craft idea that’s great for both kids and adults. Plus, it’s versatile. You can use it to decorate party favor bags, use a classroom craft, or turn into a puppet.

Time: 30 Minutes

Materials:

  • Colorful Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Wide Rimmed Glass (For Minion body template)
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • 1” Circle Craft Punch
  • 5” Circle Craft Punch
  • Flower Punches (optional)
  • Bounty Paper Towels

There is a scene in the movie that takes place at a Hawaiian luau, which was our inspiration for this craft. Let’s celebrate Bounty with new Despicable Me 3 prints for making pick up, like this Hawaiian Minion craft, both quick and FUN!

Instructions:

You will first need to prepare some shapes for the kids. Each Hawaiian Minion needs:

  • Yellow Body
  • 2 Googly Eyes
  • 2 Sliver or Gray 1.5” Goggles
  • Black Goggle Strap
  • Black Mouth
  • 2 1” Brown Coconuts
  • Red Strap
  • 3” long Green Grass Skirt
  • Flowers

I cut out four yellow bodies by folding a piece of construction paper in fourths. I traced one side of a wide rimmed glass for the top of the head and used a ruler to draw out the rest. You can cut all four out at a time. Cut the goggle strap, red strap, and grass skirt the width of your body. For the mouth, punch out a 1.5” circle and cut it in half. For the flowers, cut some out yourself, use stickers, or use a craft punch. Assemble the Hawaiian Minion to look like this using glue:

Here is my daughter, Mia in action. As you can see it gets a little messy!

Just in time for Despicable Me 3 hitting theaters on June 30, Bounty with new Despicable Me 3 prints are here to help me with this messy craft for kids. Bounty with new Despicable Me 3 prints feature the ever-mischievous Minions! The limited-edition prints are available in Paper Towel and Quilted Napkins and pack a punch of color and fun that only the Minions can deliver. We had both damp and dry ones by our side to quickly wipe up glue and messy fingers.

We glued some on some blue party favor bags. You can also use a craft stick, paint stick, or your empty Bounty Paper Towel Roll and make a stick puppet!
