We removed the lawn at our townhouse and love the results! I just made our postage stamp front yard a large flower bed, with beautiful perennials (that require little water or maintenance), and fresh mulch. It’s super easy to maintain, low cost, and uses very little water. I did the same thing to the back yard, but also added in perennial fruits like blueberries and strawberries!

Mulch is a gardeners best friend and THE first line of defense in water conservation! Oh wow, blueberries AND strawberries too, yummy!
