Repurposed Desk Buffet

Easy DIY Furniture Idea: Repurposed Desk Buffet

I’m really excited to feature my friend Barbara from Chase the Star today to share her repurposed desk turned buffet. Barbara has a love for all things craft and DIY and transformed this old desk she had sitting in her garage for about 9 years.  Deciding that it still had some great bones, she hesitated to donate it. Here is a BEFORE photo.

With a little sanding, primer, and paint Barbara revamped her old paint job into a prettier and more durable high gloss white.  She had a piece of plywood cut to size at Home Depot to make a shelf and added decorative brackets.  She also added two coats of walnut stain to the top piece, and changed the knob to a pretty acrylic knob.

Barbara said that accessorizing it was the most fun part of the entire project.  Filled with her amazing thrift store finds, she purchased the silver pitchers and bowl, the copper tea pot, all of the plates and cups, and the ice bucket all for $65.00!
