Spray Painted Birdcage

I bought this birdcage on sale around Halloween time at Michael’s.  I used it once during Halloween for a spooky skull display. It’s been sitting at the bottom of my craft closet ever since then collecting dust. I like it but the color was to dark and dreary so I decided to paint it a more vibrant color for spring time and use it for my Easter decorations. Here is my Spray Painted Birdcage.

Materials:

Here is the birdcage BEFORE. Pretty, but drab.

Since it was so dark I used one coat of spray primer. A good tip is to use primer anytime you are going dark to light. When spray painting, make sure you do it in a well-ventilated area and protect all the surfaces around it.

I chose a pretty bright green color. I used two coats. Much better!!!

I used it on my mantel with some fake blue paper grass and some colorful Easter eggs. It adds the perfect amount of color!

The great thing about it is that if I get tired of the green, I can always change it! With a little spray paint, you can transform almost anything!
