Treasure Hunting in Georgia!
Time to go on a treasure hunt for more rusty gold! What better place than a Flea Market in Summerville, Georgia! This Flea Market is held every Tuesday of the month.
At the flea market we bought some of the local raw honey made from the Sourwood Tree or Sorrel Tree. The tree is popular for the honey produced from it. The honey is not overly sweet and has an earthy flavor that I love. The farm fresh fruit and veggies offered a brilliant array of colors.
As we were leaving, one of the vendors was packing up for the day. I was able to get this cute bird cage for $1.00!
On the way home we stopped in Ringgold, Georgia, at an old cotton gin.
It was here that I fell in love with an old auger and cowbell! They now reside in our front yard.
When we found these old saws and I knew that one of them was going to be transformed. Stay tuned, the end result is coming!
Across from the cotton gin was an antique store. The friendly owner told me that in a couple of months there would be a huge flea market where local folks bring their For Sale items and every street is filled with treasures. Of course, I added my email to his mailing list so I can be notified of the exact date of this event. I don’t want to miss out!
