Washi Tape Notebooks and Pencils DIY Inspired

This article, Washi Tape Crafts Pencils and Notebooks, is sponsored by Fiskars. All opinions are 100% my own.

I love this kid’s craft because a) you only need two supplies, b) you can let your child’s imagination run wild, and c) it’s not messy! Recently I shared two back to school kids crafts in honor of my Back to School Twitter Chat with Fiskars coming up on the 9th, Repurposed Baby Wipe Container Pencil Boxes and Back to School Hand Sanitizers.  This one is simple but fun and takes about 15 minutes or less.

There is technically no wrong or right way to do this. You simply give your kids the above materials list and let them decorate their pencils and notebooks as they wish. I found these notebooks in the dollar bins at a craft store, and I bought a 12 pack of pencils at the 99 cent store…Cute but a tad boring.

We chose a variety of colors and patterns of Washi tape that made us happy! The Fiskars Kid Scissors are ideal because they are safe for ages four and up, they do not stick to the Washi tape, and they are the perfect size for little hands.

The kids can decorate both the notebooks and pencils. If they mess up, it’s ok because it is fairly easy to remove and start over.
