Recycled Book Page Flowers
How to Make Recycled Book Page Flowers in 3 Steps
There are so many recycled book page projects including wreaths to magnets and other embellishments. This one is a favorite and are perfect for gift wrapping.  It’s a unique way to add personality to your gift.  These are made from extra pages from the Hollow Book Safe . Here is how you make these recycled book page flowers in three easy steps.
Where to Find Damaged Books
Finding damaged books can depend on your location and the type of books you’re looking for. Many libraries sell damaged or outdated books at discounted prices. You can often find these in the library’s book sale section. Places like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other secondhand shops may have books in various conditions, including those with some damage. You can often find books in rough condition at estate or garage sales, where people are looking to clear out their homes.
Materials
The only materials you need are:
- Book Pages
- Water Color
- Water
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
Step One: Water Color
Watercolor is all about controlling the amount of water you use. More water makes the paint lighter and more transparent, while less water results in a more intense, vibrant color. Simply water color both front and back of the book pages and let it dry completely. The more water you use, the lighter the color will be.
Step Two: Cut
After the pages are try, cut out petal shapes with scissors. There is no wrong way to do this. Cut different sizes and shapes.
Step Three: Bend and Fold
One by one, shape a rose by bending and folding each petal and pinching the bottom into the desired shape. Use a dab of glue on the bottom to keep the flower together.
The color possibilities are endless!
