DIY Craft Storage Jars 15 Minute Craft

Woo hoo!!! I get to participate in another Craft Lightening today with Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts! Last time I did a tutorial for how to make a rope vase and this time I’m sharing how to upcycle craft storage jars in fifteen minutes or less!

Materials:

  • Any jar(s) with a lid
  • Drawer knobs
  • E6000
  • Paint (optional)

Instructions:

I was looking for craft storage jars ever since I started making this flower cluster headpiece and this red, white, and blue headpiece because all my craft supplies were building up!  I purchased these three multi-purpose jars from the 99 cent store.

I had these wooden knobs left over from an old dresser I upcycled.  I used some for a little kitchen play hutch I made and had exactly three left for this project.

I decided to paint them, blue of course!

Tip: I left the screws in to make it easier to paint.

Next, with a little E6000, I glued the knobs to the lid after the paint dried. An industrial strength glue is great because you will be able to pull or twist the lid without worrying that the knob will fall off (take my word on this one).

That’s it!  SUPER easy upcycled craft storage jars in less than 15 minutes!

You can use these cute little buggers for things other than craft storage of course!  Consider using them for spices in your kitchen, office supplies, or bathroom necessities.  You can also use different types of knobs, depending on your décor.

Well, this is such a cute idea! With all my girls running around the house pulling at their hair, I always end up with rubber bands and bows all over the house. I am so making these to help organize the bathroom counter. I’ll probably just use some of the mason jars I have around the house, but I just love using those door handles. I still have some burlap and lace leftover from another project, so I’m seeing this turning into a whole thing!
