As you may or may not know, I am not confident in my cooking or baking skills. Sure, I make dinner for my little family every night, and I’ve even pulled off a few successful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner parties before. But know you know that this is why I don’t post any of my own recipes!

I do, however love eating and giving baked goods gifts. I thoroughly enjoy visiting the bakery in my local grocery store and all the tasty and tempting cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. There is always a great variety and I’m never disappointed. For this Valentine’s Day, I thought it be fun to buy some sweet treats from my bakery and get creative with the packaging to give away as gifts to my friends, Mia’s teachers, and a couple neighbors. Here is what I came up with.

Oh and don’t forget to stick around for the GIVEAWAY below!

I made this Recycled Juice Carton Treat Box myself.  You can view the full step by step tutorial {HERE}. You can also use a milk carton as well.  I simply cut, measured, and glued on paper party straws to embellish it.  I filled it heart shaped sugar cookies I got from the bakery.

Washi tape is a simple way to embellish a gift. I used it on my recycled carton treat box as well as added it to heart shaped tin as well.

If you don’t want to make your own treat box for your bakery goodies, the dollar bins and several retailers have great options.  I bought these two for one dollar each! I am going to add a pretty “Happy Valentine’s Day” tag and ribbon to the handles.

As you can see there are several fun, inexpensive, creative ways to gift some sweetness on not just Valentine’s Day but any holiday or special occasion! Visit your local grocer’s bakery to find easy and delicious treats that you can personalize and give as gifts on Valentine’s Day and every day. Now for the giveaway…

  • My nanny, Lizzie makes our day easier! When Hubs and I are working from home, she entertains and cares for Red fora few hours each day, making work possible!!

  • My hubby makes every day better, because he always laughs at my cornball jokes and he is quick to give a hug.

    Great giveaway! Lots of fun!

The person who make my day better is my son. If it was not for him I would have not discovered my creative side. He is the reason I laugh when I am sad because he won’t let me be sad. He is a wonderful part of my life and I wondered how I could have been happy without him.

    Awesome giveaway

My daughter makes everyday better! She is so encouraging and supportive, I can’t imagine a day without her beautiful smile and loving personality!

  • My bestie, Jill, makes every day better. She’s so grounded and energetic and just tells it to me like it is. I’m fortunate to have a friend like her.

  • This one is hard because I don’t know who to choose :) I’m going to go with my 11 year old daughter Ashlyn. She & I are the only 2 girls (with 3 males in the house), so we tend to stick together. She’s my shopping buddy & still likes going everywhere with me (hope that doesn’t change!). Ashlyn is sarcastic & funny as heck, like her mama :) She and I laugh ALL the time and I love it <3

My kids make every day better because they are so upbeat and creative.

  • Lisa

My sister makes every day at work. We both have “boring” office jobs and we chat on Gmail every day all day long to help get us through the work days. It has brought us so close and whenever one of us isn’t at work…it’s so hard to get through the day. We cheer each other on trying to get to 5 PM. It’s amazing that we can chat for 40 hours a week and never run out of things to talk about. I’m SO thankful for my sister.

  • Yikes..just 1? My husband of course! Then my kiddos! :) Love them all!

  • Alma Bosek

My family makes my day special. They are supportive and kind.

  • Lori

My daughter Kendall :) She is just such a smart little girl that cracks me up daily :)

  • Lisa

My 2 year old daughter- because no matter what happens during my day, whether I’m frustrated , stressed, irritated, tired or upset, all I have to do is look at her sweet face and spend time playing with her and I feel so much better and so blessed to be her mom!

  • Mary

My daughter Madi. Without her, my everyday life would be dull. She’s definitely a ball of energy and attitude but i wouldn’t be the same without her ♡

  • Sue Swett

My 6 year old daughter. She’s sweet, funny, sensitive and
her smile lights up any room. Its been a rough yr for me and she
always knows the exact moment that I need a hug.

  • Kyla @ Funky PolkaDot Giraffe

My daughter. She is full of spunk and spice and it keeps things exciting around here :)

  • Leslie

My daughter, who reminds me to not take everything so seriously and to enjoy the moment that I’m in. Even the when I think I’m having the worst day she shows me that I have so much to be grateful for.

  • I would have to say my husband..just having him to wake up to everyday and share my days with makes everyday is a great day. Then, I would have to say my children…they challenge me everyday to make me be a better person, teach me new things and make me smile!

  • PS. Thanks for asking this question to remind me how lucky I am!

  • Does my dog Roxie count? I really love her! ;D

  • My kids hands down. You can have the worst day and one laugh from a child erases it all!

  • My daughter! One and only and she makes me proud every day!

  • Justine Burgess

My 6 year old makes every day better. Before him, I didn’t know what I was missing. It can be tough sometimes, but he makes me want to be a better person every day. I’ve become less selfish and more understanding. I’m not perfect and never will be; flaws are a part of human nature. Being a parent, though, has led me to a much deeper understanding of others, and for that -and my son- I am so grateful.

  • Angie Wulf

My 4 year old daughter Skye :) The things that come out of her mouth daily are priceless and hilarious and she constantly reminds me to NEVER act my age!!

  • Mary Mahoney Stout

My Husband would be my choice. He quietly and strongly supports each one of us and never asks for anything in return. He works out in the weather..and with the subzero temps we have had, rain, snow, artic winds, he NEVER complains. He appreciates EVERYTHING and always makes sure we have what we need. And when you recognize him for what he does so selflessly, he gets all giggly which is so adorable I cant stand it.
